At Food Safety Essentials, not only do we provide training for Child Care and Aged Care Sector, we also provide food safety essentials training with practical tips on how to manage food safety on an at home basis.

We provide Pro Bono training for at risk groups, including migrants who have arrived from environments very different to Australia, not only the climate and food types, but also the culture.

We provide information on food types in Australia ,preparation and storage, along with practical tips e.g how to prepare school lunches.

We also provide training for community groups, including parents wanting to learn skills including,

• how to shop safely
• Identifying good quality products
• The difference between use by and best before dates.
• Storing foods safely
• Preparing foods in a safe manner
• Cooking for events
And much more.

The feedback from these participants is that they feel empowered when handling food.

Another important aspect of the training is that participants can identify safe food handling practices when looking for services for their families and loved ones to attend including Childcare,and Aged Care services .

All facilities providing food for the community are obliged to meet certain Australian Food Standards, we teach the community about these standards, and how to identify venues that are providing safe food based on their practices.
